For dogs who refuse to stay home
A flat, padded bed that covers the footwell gap.
The FlatRide™ base bridges the space in front of the back seat, so there's no drop for paws to slip into. The quilted cover takes the hair, mud and claws so your seats don't have to.
30-day launch sale
Launch price for the first 30 days. Then it goes up to $159.99.
FREEPet hair remover glove ($14.99 value)
The cover catches the hair. The glove gets it back out. Free for 30 days.
Free shipping in the US. It ships from a US warehouse and most orders arrive in about a week. Send it back within 90 days — already used is fine, and you don't need the original box. If it rips or a strap fails in the first 90 days, we replace it.
Not sure it fits? Check the two measurements or email us your car's make, model and year and we'll check it for you.
What it fixes
Shedding season, muddy trail days. Put the cover down once and quit worrying about the back seat.
The FlatRide™ base covers the footwell, so your dog gets one flat surface instead of a drop between the seats.
Nails dig into quilted fabric, not your leather or cloth.
Water and drool bead up on the quilted Oxford fabric instead of soaking into your seat.*
The difference
A hammock is just fabric stretched between the headrests. When your dog steps toward the middle, it dips into the footwell — the same hole you were trying to cover. The FlatRide™ base is a rigid board that sits across that gap and gives the fabric something to rest on.
Your dog braces against the drop, slides forward on every stop, and ends up wedged in the footwell on long drives.
The board carries the weight instead of the fabric, so there's nowhere to slide into and your dog can lie down full length.
Will it fit?
Most returns in this category happen because the cover didn't fit the car. Measure first and you skip the whole problem.
Door to door, along the seat. You need about 54 in (137 cm) of width.
From the back rest to the back of your front seats. You need 26–28 in (65–71 cm).
The straps loop around them. No rear headrests, no install.
Still not sure? Email us your car's make, model and year before you buy and we'll tell you straight whether it fits — including if the answer is no. And if it arrives and still doesn't work in your car, you have 90 days to send it back.

Cleanup
When you get home, unclip it and pull it off. Most of what your dog left behind comes off with the cover.
A rigid board under the padded top that spans the footwell, so the back seat becomes one flat bed instead of a hole. Rated to 220 lb.
Diamond stitching over a padded bed that sits on the FlatRide™ base.
Panels cover the sides of the seat and the lower doors.
A see-through panel between the front seats, so your dog can see you and air can move through.
Room for treats, wipes and a leash.
Adjustable straps clip around the headrests. Check your car before you order.

Every seat cover has the same problem: the hair ends up in the cover and won't come out. Vacuums skip it, lint rollers quit, tape takes an hour. The glove pulls it off in one pass. It comes with every extender, at no charge.

Looks solid. Haven't tested it yet, but the flat part is hard, which will be good for my Akita.

Seems solid. The floor is stiff, though not like a plank. We'll see how it holds up with a 32 kg Doberman.

The rigid bottom isn't really rigid, it's semi-rigid. A large dog (40 kg) bends it with no trouble, as if it were cloth. It all feels quite fragile.
Original (Italian): “Il fondo rigido non è propriamente da considerarsi tale ma semi rigido. Un cane di taglia grande (40kg) piega il fondo senza problemi come se fosse di telo. Sembra tutto molto fragile, staremo a vedere.”

Questions
What you'll probably want to know first.
Set up, it's about 54 in wide and 26–28 in deep, which fits the back seat of most sedans, SUVs and pickup trucks. The straps clip around the rear headrests. Email us your car's make, model and year before you order and we'll tell you straight whether it fits. Measure your back seat too — it takes a minute. And if it still doesn't fit, you have 90 days to send it back, used or not.
It's the rigid board under the padded top that spans the footwell — the gap in front of the back seat where dogs slide down when you brake. With it in place, the back seat is one flat bed from the seat back to the front seats, rated to hold up to 220 lb. Soft hammocks without a rigid base sag into that gap; the FlatRide™ base is what keeps the surface flat.
No tools needed. Loop the straps around the rear headrests, clip the buckles, and lay the FlatRide™ base across the footwell.
No. It gives your dog a flat spot and protects the seat, but it won't hold them in place if you brake hard or crash. Use it together with a harness or a crate.
Shake off the loose hair, then wipe it with a damp cloth or run a vacuum over it. For the hair the vacuum leaves behind, use the glove that comes with it. Check the care label before you try anything else.
It can carry a faint factory smell straight out of the bag, like most new car covers. Unfold it and leave it out for a day before the first trip and it goes away.
Shipping is free — we don't charge for it at any order size. It ships from a warehouse in the US to the lower 48 states and DC, and most orders arrive in about a week. You'll get a tracking number by email as soon as it's on the way.
It ships separately from the extender, so the two packages can show up a day or two apart.
You have 90 days after your order arrives to send it back for a refund. Your dog can have already used it, and you don't need the tags or the original packaging — we'd rather you actually try it in your car than leave it in the bag.
If the fabric rips or tears, or a strap or buckle fails in normal use within 90 days of delivery, send us a photo and we'll ship you a replacement. It doesn't cover chewing, cuts, or damage from anything other than everyday use.
Because we're a new store and we'd rather show you real ones than invent them. The reviews on this page are from verified buyers of this exact product on our supplier's marketplace, where it has been selling longer in Europe than in the US. We show the country, the date and the original text of each one — including the critical review. As soon as our own customers start leaving reviews, those go here too.
The $129.99 launch price and the free glove are for the first 30 days. After that, the extender goes up to its regular price of $159.99.
